New Zealand Monopolies

hello everybody greetings from new zealand! we're just out of summer and the weather is fine! i really am missing good ol' singapore and the tastebud-tantalising food!!!

today when i was walking down queen street (the equivalent of orchard rd in singapore) with my friend, we suddenly came to the awful realization that new zealand is basically controlled by a few companies. walk down queen street and the only pharmacy u'll come across is 'radius pharmacy'. at uni, everyone and i really mean EVERYONE, uses 'warwick' notebooks and refill pads. we have 2 phone providers, telecom and vodaphone, which charge us exorbitant prices for the usage of our mobile phones. 20 cents a text anywhere in the world, 49 cents a MINUTE for calls. CRAZY! so here's my pitch to u... i know there's heaps of resourceful people in our council, and i think some of u shld come here to nz and set up shop. sell cheap notebooks and stationery! open ur own pharmacy! start ur own phone company and charge us singapore style! =)

yes i do miss the cheapness of singapore as u can tell.

anyway i hope all of u are doing well wherever it is u are... oh and hey how do we tweak the layout of this blog cos i think it could really do with a facelift!
